On what should have been a happy day - Dots' second birthday - I am heartbroken to report that I just found my precious Goobers dead in his hammock. I am not sure what caused it, other than the effects of aging. I knew he was slowing down a lot recently but he was alert and had a great appetite. He didn't have any tumors and wasn't displaying any signs of respiratory problems or any of the common ailments seen in rats.

As you all well know, he was much loved and will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to hear this Victoria. I have been snowed under with work and barely even scanning the forums and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this.
