I've heard from a good source that Fleetwood Mac will be playing the Glastonbury festival this year and apparently they'll be playing the Saturday (when Bruce Springsteen is headlining). It's speculated they'll take the "oldies slot" that Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond took last year.
Of course, until it's officially announced it's not 100% certain and could all fall through, but it's looking pretty likely at this point.
Glastonbury is already sold out this year, but it is broadcast on TV. I wonder though if they'll play any other European festivals if it happens?
I hope they do and that they will announce the dates soon.
Yeah, please, not only Glastonbury......
Wonder if they'll end with the Doctor Who theme segueing into Chime yet again...
Oh wait. That's Orbital.
It's so hard to gauge with Fleetwood Mac though. I can understand why they'd do Glastonbury, aside from the "cool" aspect of it, the TV and press coverage they'd receive from playing there would be better than weeks worth of interviews. You'd think they'd throw in some more dates while they are over but maybe they are doing it entirely for the publicity (and the pay cheque, which I'm sure is substantial).
From what I've been told, it's pretty a done deal they will play though, it just hasn't been announced yet.
Isn't anyone & everyone (
RH) rumoured to play at glastonbury?
Anyway, where do I get tickets

I just hope they'll do at least ONE gig where we could meet eachother.
Although I'm not sure if I'll survive a preshow-drinking-meeting with sharon, vanessa, marieke, suzy, gaius, stefan, Peestie, and probably a lot more and even some ex-ledgies too.
this
HAS to happen!
even if they suck arse it will be so worth it meeting all of you and dissing them together

Funnily enough Radiohead aren't rumoured this year! There is a rumour that Coldplay is going to headline the Friday night but the only acts that have been properly confirmed so far are Bruce Springsteen, Blur and Franz Ferdinand. It's also pretty much a definite that Neil Young is playing, it hasn't been announced yet but he's doing UK dates that week.
And you can't get tickets, it's already sold out.

We have to watch on TV unless they announce another date.
^^^
Hahaha! that is dumb! We could form such a dumb square somewhere else too!
@Mari:
I have the impression that they don't suck that much. I actually like the more stripped down sound.
Well, the Pinkpop lineup was announced today, and they definitely aren't playing there. Springsteen's in attendance though (which means I'm there!).
Maybe Rock Werchter? I'd think they would get FM to do Werchter Classics though. The Simple Minds are headlining Pinkpop Classics, so that's out of the question.
God damnit, I don't know what I'm anticipating more at the moment: my mortgage application to go through without hiccups at the bank, or the announcement of European concert dates.
I'm game for Glastonbury if work allows it, but I'm hoping for something closer (and less sold out

).
Dude, whatever. There's a wine bar.

And mud. Lots of it. We'd all probably be like that anyway, after a few glasses
Werchter Classic, from their website :
"AFFICHE TW CLASSIC HELEMAAL ROND. NIEUW: BASEMENT JAXX, MOBY, KEANE, DUFFY, TOM HELSEN EN MOTOR "
which means : all the names are announced.
Apart from the ones mentioned above, Depeche Mode is headlining.
No mention of FM
And no mention on Rock Werchter either .....

wasn't saying they do, just if they suck
I can't really say, haven't heard a thing of them live lately.
